How Use SMA Categories Works

Applies to:
✔ Dynamic ✔ PDF

✔ Client Portal

 

This setting allows you to choose whether to use the SMA categories assigned to that account, or to use the classification of the underlying securities within the SMA.

Note

If the SMA category and the underlying securities' categories are the same, you will not see any change. 

You might choose to use this option when reporting on allocation, to emphasize what investment choices are yours and what are the SMA manager's.

In Dynamic Reports

Use SMA Categories cleared

Securities held in the SMA accounts are sorted according to their underlying categories.

 

Use SMA Categories selected

Securities held in the SMA accounts are sorted according to the categorization applied to the SMA.

Functionality is the same in the PDF report templates as in dynamic reports.
