This setting allows you to choose how many decimal places you want displayed for dollar values in the report. You can choose to set this option to whatever matches your firm's standards and what fits in your report templates. Often firms will set dollars to 0 or 2 decimal places, since many reports focus on trends rather than on exact dollar amounts, while returns are reported as determined appropriate by the firm.
You can choose to show the following number of decimals displayed for dollar amounts:
0 decimal places
When set to 0 decimal places, the account value will be rounded to the nearest dollar.
2 decimal places
3 decimal places
4 decimal places
Setting | Report Output |
---|---|
Dollar amount precision set to 0 decimal places |
Note that the dollar values are rounded to the nearest dollar. |
Dollar amount precision set to 4 decimal places |
Dollar values are reported to four decimal places. |
In the PDF report settings, percentage and dollar precision are set using the theme. However, for each individual section, you can choose to override the theme settings if you want a particular section to offer more or fewer decimal places than the rest of the report.
To adhere to the PDF theme's decimal settings, clear the Override theme dollar and percentage precision check box. This option is cleared by default.
To set override the PDF theme's decimal settings, select the Override theme dollar and percentage precision check box. With this option enabled, you will then be able to designate unique precision values for that template section.
Percentage amount precision setting functionality is the same in the PDF report templates as in dynamic reports.
