Introduction

The Accounts page lists all of your financial accounts and reporting groups, such as SMAs, brokerage accounts, etc. You can access a number of commonly used features of Advisor View, including generating PDF reports and creating and maintaining account information and reporting groups.

The page displays 50 accounts or groups at a time. You can use the numbers at the bottom of the page to see additional accounts or reporting groups. To jump to a specific page, type the page number in the Page box and then press Enter.

You can also filter the Accounts page as needed, and then quickly access these views at any time. For example, you can create a view that shows your open accounts only and then another view that shows both your open and closed accounts. These view snapshots are called account views.

You'll see that reporting groups appear in a bold font and accounts appear in a normal font so that you can easily distinguish what the page is showing. You can expand a reporting group to see its underlying accounts by clicking the next to the reporting group name.

Most actions on the page are driven from the Actions menu. From the Actions menu, you can complete the following tasks:

To select an account or group that you want to take action on, select the check box next to one or more accounts or groups.

For information on managing accounts, see Create, Close, and Delete Accounts and Maintaining Accounts in Advisor View.

Page Views

Account page views are pre-configured views of the Accounts page. For example, you may create one account view that filters out closed accounts, and another that contains closed accounts. With account views, you can create several customized views of your account data—and even choose which columns appear—so that you can make more informed decisions.

To learn more about page views, see Using Page Views.

Change Column Widths

You can use the space on your Accounts page most effectively by adjusting the column widths for views you own. Advisor View automatically saves your display settings so that when you leave the page and return, your columns will remain set up in the way that works best for you.

To change the width of a column, place your mouse over the edge of the column you want to resize and your mouse pointer will change to a resizing pointer . Click and drag the column to the desired width.

Search and Filter the Accounts Page

There are a number of ways to search and filter the Accounts page to find exactly the data you need.

The Search Bar

Use the Search box to look up a single account/reporting group, or multiple accounts/reporting groups based on the account/reporting group name or number.

When you search for accounts and reporting groups, be aware of the following:

The Alphabet Bar

The alphabet bar runs along the top of the page. When you click a letter on the bar, Advisor View will show you the accounts and reporting groups that begin with that letter. The alphabet bar makes it much easier to locate the accounts and reporting groups you want to view.

If a letter is grayed out, it means that no accounts or reporting groups begin with that letter.

Filters

Use the filters at the top of the page to eliminate unwanted accounts or reporting groups from the page—for example, you can use a filter to show only accounts and not reporting groups. You can filter by accounts, reporting groups, or even an account set.

You can also use account-level saved searches to filter the page. Once you've selected a filter, click the Filter button to filter the page. If you want to reset the filters, click Reset.
