Add Clients to a Household

Remove a Client from a Household

Introduction

Clients are groups of accounts that control access to the client portal. On the Clients panel, you can view the client's email address and specify the Households that the client will use when signing into the client portal. A client doesn't necessarily have to be an investor – a client can be anyone you want to have access to a portal, such as a CPA, lawyer, etc.

Once you create your clients on the Clients page, you can assign them to your Households, which will grant them client portal access. A client can only be assigned to one Household.

Note

The first Household assigned to an account or reporting group will automatically be selected as the default primary Household. This guarantees that new records will always have a primary Household.

You can access this panel by clicking Clients on the Membership menu when you edit a Household. For more information on editing Households, including how to navigate to this panel, visit Create a Household or Edit a Household.

What about Client Status?

If you have the MoneyGuide integration, you'll see the Client Status list. This setting allows you to designate the primary and secondary clients in MoneyGuide.

Remove a Client from a Household

To remove a client from a Household, on the Clients panel, click Remove next to the client you want to remove from the Household.

Once you've deleted the client from the Household, the client will no longer be able to sign into the Household; however, it's best to disable client portal access for the client whenever you want to prevent a client from signing in.
